Question:
In World of Warcraft, how can I get epic gear WITHOUT going through dungeons and raids?

I am a level 70 priest and I am looking for more blue and purple items for my character, but I often do not have enough time to complete an entire dungeon run when I play. By looking at Wowhead and other sites, I have noticed that most of the cool stuff I need involves going through instances. I am working to improve rep with several fractions, but even this comes to a stopping point at some point without making runs through the dungeons. Anyone know a good way to get to epic items working primarily solo, playing only one or two hours at a time? Is this possible?

-look for crafted items that are bind on equip. you can either farm the materials for them solo or you can farm the gold to buy the materials from the auction house. then all you have to do is find someone that can craft them and pay them to do it. they will charge you a good bit of gold because they have to run a heroic dungeon to get the primal nether needed to craft the item.

-you can pvp. queue up for battlegrounds and earn honor, then spend your honor points and battleground tokens in the champion hall. if you have enough honor you can purchase epic rewards this way.

-search the auction house for epic items. sometimes bind-on-equip epic items drop from bad guys and they end up on the auction houses, usually for a very high price. if you save up some gold, you can purchase them and slowly epic yourself out without ever setting foot in an instance.

making gold can take a long time. do the solo daily quests in skettis and in blade's edge mountains. you can easily make 40 or 50 gold in an hour doing those quests. also, if you are a miner or an herbalist or a skinner, try selling your raw materials on the auction house.

good luck

To get epic gear you got to work at it. To get some epic gear without raiding you would need to either craft it or spend alot of time in arenas.

If you are a healer try making the Primal Mooncloth set

If you are a shadow priest make the Shadoweave set

You need to be a tailor to get the set bonuses of each, I'd also look into other craftable epic items, usually they need primal nethers to make but they are purchasable on the AH with enough gold.

As stated above, if I where u I would farm the heck out of honor points in AV and get the required badges to obtain the veteran's gear which include epic boots, belt, bracers, necklace and ring, which are equivalent to middle tier epics and some even better that entry level raid epic gear (karazan). I would then fill in the other pieces with grand marshall's pieces which are equivalent to the better pieces that drop in regular 70 lvl instances.

Lastly, I would take tailoring as a profession and learn or buy the patterns or seek pre-made items on the AH. It will be difficult for u to make top end gear, as most require primal nethers or nether vortexes which are only rare regular instance final boss drops, heroic boss drops or able to be purchased using badges of justice earned by killing heroic bosses making them difficult to obtain without running high level instances.

First of all, I'm sorry you are experiencing this. WoW is a game and should be fun! Secondly, if you are unable to run instances but you want the purples I suggest making them! Dependent on your class you should pick a profession that will allow you to make gear for youself. example: mage/priest/lock = tailoring to make their cloth gear druid/hunter/rouge/shaman = leatherworking to make their leather/mail gear dk/pally/warrior = blacksmithing to make gear AND weapons. if you got to lvl 80 i'm sure you already know this, but I hope it's helpful in someway. Also if you have a few friends on there with certain professions maybe you could farm mats and have them make some for you. Many items are also sold of the auction house, but can be super expensive. To raise the money to buy items that cost 4k+ gold or more I suggest a profession like mining and jewelcrafting. these professions together make a lot of money through both the gems and the ore. you could also go mining and herbalism and just sell everything you farm! hope this helps and happy wowing!

As a priest I would suggest taking up Tailoring and making the Primal mooncloth set. You can also buy certain epics from the Auction House or a guildmate, if you are in a decent guild. I rarely do instances, but am very nicely outfitted from tailoring and purchases.

Um you can get some stuff off the auction house, but why wouldn't you want to run dungeons? Go to wowiki and look up where random world drops highest rates are...I have only gotten my gear out of raids, so I don't know what else to tell you...Good luck!

Simple......PvP....Has all the the pwning of alliance or horde. All the gear you get is rare and epic. And you only have to use small bits of time to complete battlegrounds and marks in the Bgs are a necessity. You need em and marks to gain your epics. I say oon my warrior I got some epics boots with honor from Battlegrounds. Just kill the hell out of everyone and the bgs will go fast. Also you have arena which is easy if you heal or dps.

I dont see why you dont want to do instances, but you can still get kickass gear.

As priest you can get many good tailoring sets such as Whitemend and Primal Mooncloth. There are also many great reputation items. None of these are sets, but they work as great additions to your gear.

The arena is also a great option.

I don't play wow, but from my extensive experience with other raid-centric MMOs, I would say that no, it's generally not possible to solo high level areas for hot high level gear in short periods of time.
