Guys: When's the appropriate age when guys should stop playing video games?

Question

So, a few questions here.
1. First tell me your age and how you feel about video games?
2. When's a good age to stop playing video games?
3. Why do guys like video games so much?
And..
4. Would you like it if your girlfriend bought you a video game that you wanted for one of your birthday gifts?

1. 14, adore video games.



2. I don't think there's an age, My uncle's well into his 40's and is a complete game nerd, there is no age, but there is a TIME to stop playing, when video games become a top priority and you have more important things to worry about, or if your world revolves around them.



3. I guess it's that "Alternate Reality" thing, the sense of "What if this happened" alot of guys like the idea of video games cause they let you do things that you wouldn't normally do, sometimes even things that are unhumanly possible! Specially online games, I'm a big freak for Grand Theft Auto IV on my xbox 360, purely because i have around 7 or 8 other school friends who play it online aswell, we always end up playing in the same game, stealing cars, shooting each other, flying helicopters. it's fun to do that stuff with someone who lives 10 kilometres away, yet on the screen you just hopped in a car with him lol.



4. I would like it, to some extent, but if it was expensive, or if she went to a big trouble to find it, i guess i wouldn't really like it if it caused her stress trying to find it, if finding a game is too hard/tedious, i'd rather lie down with her and play one of my old games.

I don;t think there is an age, hence why most games are geared towards adults and older teenagers



All the games are made by adults, all the developers, everything. Video games are not like Pac man anymore, they are incredibly complex and even more entertaining than most movies



Its not a kids industry anymore than sports are

2. A good age to stop is 21, you can still play after 21 but not be fanatical about it.

3. Guys like video games because they feed our competitive nature, excite our fantasies and make us feel good. Also they are cathartic and help work out aggression.

4. I would love it if I got a Wii from my wife. Oh yes!!

first off i am 48yrs old and i haven't stopped playing video games since i started with pong.myself i don't think you should ever stop playing video games.why do i like video games,i think it is a good release after a hard or bad day at work.you come home and put in gta san andres and blow off some steam.i would love it if my girlfriend bought or played video games.i hope this helps.keep on gaming.

I'm 25 and I'm a casual gamer, I don't play a ton but I do play. I don't see why you ever have to quit, it's a hobby just like anything else, no one goes around asking my grandpa when he will stop fishing. They are a great escape, a cool social device (if you play em with friends) and more involved than say kicking back and watching a movie or TV. And yeah, I would think most guys would like it if a girl did that, I think girls always do better with guys when they don't try to change them.

I had that problem a few years ago. I just stopped playing for a week or so then went back to the game and I got better (gameplay and sportsmanship).
