Hi. I got my friends into this game and they have been having the same problem ever since they brought the game. So what i decided to do is make a free guide on how to level effortlessly here it is http://lvlsfast.blogspot.com/ hopefully that will help.

Questing is the fastest way to level unless you have a ton of rest experience, then dungeon grinding is. I Like to do both because doing all of one or the other gets mundane for me. When you do quest, the old world quest system sucks and some quest will make you fly all over the world to complete, unless you are into the Lore just skip those and do the ones that only pertain to the zone you are doing. Once you hit 58 you can go to TBC where the quest are much more better laid out, and at 60 you can fly making questing even faster. At 68 go to WOTLK where all the quest flow nice

I say find yourself a 20 level partner for random dungeons. If you are a healer, find a tank or vise versa.
If you are a dps class, find yourself a tank and level with him all the way to 80 with dungeons.
You will lack a lot of lore cause of not doing quests. Also you may not be able to get into some dungeons till you do these quests but all of them are a day's job. So my advice level up with a partner based dungeon system. Good Luck.

what a noob. you will need a carrot half eaten by bugs bunny, 14 donkey chodes, a pitching wedge, a magic 8 ball, and a hooker. with the carrot place firmly into the hookers anal cavaty, take the donkey chodes and make the hooker deep throat, take the pitching wedge and play 9 holes of golf with a level 99 cyntalops while killing a stag, finally ask the magic 8 ball if it was a good idea. *****

My best advice is if you are interested in starting WoW ask a friend if they want to start with you, if so do a "recruit a friend" service from the website you gain tripple the normal exp as normal and you are with your friend =D. If this is not possible I REALLY love the James Leveling Guide to use as a guide it is probably the fastest way I know.
http://www.wow-pro.com/leveling_guides/james_alliance_leveling_guide if you are an ally
http://www.wow-pro.com/node/754 if you are a horde if you are the horde!!! (imo they are my favs)
