So I've been looking into buying some Japanese imports to play on my PS2, and from what I gather, a modchip or similar is required for the system to run the games. I've looked at a few modchip sets online, but I'm not sure if any of them will work on my PS2, because it's a slim. Any suggestions/advice?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. :)

Ok, modchips are so expensive. I use to have a Slimline Playstation 2 too. I used an alternative to a modchip. Works the same way but there's more procedures to it.
It's called Swap Magic 3. The good thing about this is, it doesn't void your warranty because you don't have to open up your Playstation 2 or solder anything on there. You get 3 bits of cheap plastic (they would get so much money from these) and insert it in 3 different locations which they tell you on their website. You would also get a disc. Insert this disc and after it's loaded, you will be asked to swap the disc for the game (Region or Burnt one). Press X and you would be off and running! It costs 10x cheaper than the actual mod chip.

Of course, you have to swap discs everytime you want to play a game but would you want to pay more or swap discs and pay cheaper?
