PSN down? June 9th 2012?

Question

So this morning i switched my ps3 on and i couldnt sign onto psn. I tried to re establish a connection and when i did the test connection i got

Obtain IP Adress Succeeded

Internet Connection Succeeded

PSN: FAILED

Is this happening to other people?

I've got the same problem. An hour ago it stopped working. It's happening worldwide.

I know the PSN is down. I looked up at list of error codes and I found this:



8071053D - Hard boot the PS3, turn off the PS3 to stand-by, flip off the back switch and completely remove the power cord. Shut off your modem/router, for approx. 5 minutes, then turn the modem back up first and let it sync. Then turn the router back on (if you're using one) and let it sync. Reconnect your power cable and flip the back switch up again. Then make a new network connection.





Could this fix the problem OR am I just wasting my breath by posting this and that (above) has nothing to do with fixing the PSN being down?

"PSN is down for protection." No. Most of the time PSN declares they will have a renovation or a replace. Alot of PSN customers have become a you have got to change your password or the common error code: 8071053D. Could be a hack, Netflix and other services are working just now not PSN.

Ive finally been sent back into my account only to be told my password isnt active and needs changing. Then I get error code 80023102



BE VERY CAREFUL GUYS this looks like the same S*** that happened when Sony was hacked and chances are that if you change your password you wont get into your account again or hackers will get into it.



I hope Im wrong but my password has no reason to be invalid. Reading online now also about a massive powersurge will update if I find any more.

I am able to log in just fine but i am not able to download anything. I called Sony and the representative said that PSN is currently down and they dont know when it will be back up. Lets just hope it's no another repeat of last year.

Mine is up and running!!! What I did was:

1. unplug my playstation while it was on and plug it back in.

2. wait for system reboot due to incorrect shut down.

3. sit there and feel stupid for unplugging my playstation while it was on

4. check my internet connection.

5. attempt to sign on

6. went outside for a quick smoke

7. got on black ops

8. attempt to sign on

9. no results

10. attempt again and it worked !!!



Im playing black ops right now if you want to send me a f/r .... to bad..... I have 100 friends already.

Everyone is getting the same code. I just called Sony and it looks like the Network is down but they didn't say why.

Nothing to worry about. I just called Playstation Network and the guy told me that everyone is facing minor problems and is under mantence. It will be back up shortly. :)
