Please anwser this World Of Warcraft Question?

I have a acer (aspire 1690) laptop I think we got it in 2005 or 2006 and I wanted to buy world of warcraft but this computer expert told me I could not have it because u need a special chip for the graphics that can't go in a laptop? Please Help

he means that you don't have a chip that is separate from your main stuff that is just for graphics, instead you have integrated graphics. my guess though, is that if you have a decent amount of memory you'll be able to run WoW just fine, though you'll have to turn the graphics way down. My roommate plays WoW on a laptop with integrated graphics just fine.

Well you have to buy a better graphics card or that chip he was talking about. I play WoW and got it for my 2005 computer (not a laptop) but I am getting a laptop soon in a week or so... I am sure it will work on mine because it has a nice set of memory and a good graphics card. I can get upgrades from the techguys at work though lmao, well my parents job. "Best Buy" is a great store for all you electronic needs, I have bought a lot of computer stuff and they are up to date, if you need something else you can go to Nvidia.com for your graphics too, buy off of there or download it but it's different for downloading. Ebay is a good place too but you have to becareful what you buy as well. CircuitCity is another great store as well ^^ you should ask questions there or bestbuy, BestBuy is the number 1 place for me I have been going there for years, I know I might talk a lot but it's my thing ya'know? XD

But bestbuy will probably be more specific as well, I am just a child so I might get some information wrong but I am for sure bestbuy is the place to be xD,ummmm there you go, I do not know much about graphics card and such, I know a lot about Ip and memory though >_<

i have several friends that play WoW on laptops. they're fairly new laptops (bought within the last year or 2), but they haven't added any graphics hardware to them. and the game runs OK. I'm sure it would be a little less laggy if they were able to upgrade their graphics, but i never hear them complaining. and it's definitely not enough to keep them from playing for hours everyday! sounds to me like the computer "expert" was just trying to sell you a new laptop as well as WoW.

most graphics chips for games with high quality picture such as world of warcraft, are much too big for a laptop, so u need a full sized pc to play them, sry dude
