i would like to establish home network gaming by router but i am not sure whether router can perform great like LAN cable?, my favorite PCs games will be put into home network gaming are Left4Dead2, Command&Conquer4, CallOfDuty ModernWarFare-2.

No Direct LAN line is always best, because it goes right to your computer and not through a router which could increase lag.
