Xbox live problem (360)?

Question

I was playing GTA IV just now and for no reason i am signed out of live and when i try to get back on i can't.
This is what comes up in the test..
Network adapter: Wired
Wireless Network: N/A
IP Adress: Confirmed
MTU: Confirmed
ICMP: Confirmed
Xbox Live: Failed
NAT: N/A

It came back on and after like an hour it did the same thing.
Any suggestions?

"Following the downtime of Xbox Live yesterday, some Xbox 360 users experience connection issues right now because Microsoft is posting TrueSkill statistics on Halo 3.

The Xbox support page calls the issues intermittent.





Update: Looks like the issue just got more severe as Microsoft updated the support page with: "Users will not be able to connect or log into Xbox LIVE. We are aware of the problem and working to resolve the issue."



We see quite some hits on our Xbox Live Down stories indicating that currently lots of Xbox users cannot connect to Xbox Live.



Not sure why posting data is requiring to shut down connection to the service.

Hey I was on Guitar Hero3 and I was signed out as well!

Remember the updates they said they did yesterday?

Well apparently doesn't seem like anything changed.

I think they are gonna be updateing it again and I have no idea when Xbox Live will be back on.

I play GTA IV Too!

Are you still having this issue. IT's october 1st and almost 10 a.m. It just happened to me when I was playing call of duty 4 and now I can't get back online to xbox live at all. All the tests are ok and it just fails on connecting to LIVE so I don't know if their servers are down or what?

My only suggestion is to be patient. Its down for most people now. No one knows the reason yet. Just wait. Or sleep, and it should be up in the morning...

well if Xbox live is down it is probably something you cant fix but it seems like some ppl are not having a problem so it might just be an overload issue

Down all over, yes. No one knows, something f'ed up when they tried to update it yesterday. I'd say be patient, but it was hours late to come back on yesterday, so who knows. I hate everybody right now, want Madden.

lol, just like the machine, xbox live has broken down, red rings have struck again.
