WoW disconnects and heavy lag?

I've been playing WoW (world of warcraft) for a couple years now. About a year and a half ago I replaced the video card in my computer. The fan quit working and it fried the card. Haven't had any problems with it. Recently I've had a problem with frequent disconnects and intermittent lag. I've tried a defrag and shutting down unneeded processes. I've also tried playing with both my firewall on, then off and there's really no difference. I ran a virus scan and no viruses were found. I have 70% free space on my hard drive, so I know my computer isn't overloaded. WoW is basically the only thing on there besides some music and photos. Is there something I'm not doing to fix the problem or is it a WoW issue? Has anyone else had this problem recently?

Is your internet ok? When you disconnect from WoW, can you check websites like Yahoo?

I've had some disconnect and lag problems too with WoW after patch 3.1 . Sometimes it's my internet because I can't browse websites immediately after my disconnect. Sometimes it's WoW itself because I was able to reconnect immediately.

If you have the time, use the Blizzard Repair Tool and check files for errors. Leave the internet connection on because if there is a problem, the repair tool will download the parts needed to fix it.

Hmmm..... if there is lag I would say it might be your internet connection. You may want to check that out, make sure your connections up to full strength, or maybe even upgrade your internet service.
