Should I get Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops?

Question

I borrowed Black Ops from a friend a couple months ago, I went through the campaign in 5-6 hours, it was enjoyable but I disliked the story, most of the weapons, didn't care about the characters or anything and felt really rushed.

It had some amazing moments but overall not that good. I don't agree with what people are talking about with how the graphics are amazing in the game, they look amazing at times but always and deserve a 10? When hell freezes! the character models were probably the best looking things in the game.

Then I played multiplayer, It was good and what I liked the most is the change to COD Points, it was fun but holy ---- do you level up way to fast, and WAAAAAY to easy (maybe just the people I played with?)

it got repetitive because I unlocked pretty much everything quickly (and I borrowed the game for just like 2-3 days) and got bored from it, I still didn't like the weapons cause I'm not really a guy who likes weapons in games from 'Nam.

I only played Zombies twice (including the pentagon stage at the end credits or something) and I disliked it as much as I did in World at War.
I don't know why people like this mode so much, I find it boring and I'm really good at it and all and like have gotten to around level 20 in world at war but it's just no fun.

Zork was....pointless, lol. and I didn't like Dead Ops.

Now for what I've played of modern warfare 2.

Just the demo and multiplayer a couple times and I really enjoyed it, the demo on the PSN is really cool and the snow mobile part is really on the edge of your seat and fun.

Multiplayer was great but now that there is COD points starting in the COD series (well I dunno if it's in the next game) I'm not quite sure if I like it as much as I used too, I still like the customization and the weapons A LOT more than black ops but I really liked the COD points systems, Multiplayer had lots of campers but not as OFTEN as people always say (probably haters of the game) probably like there was 2 instances when I was in a map with campers that would keep shooting but I just changed matches.

I also liked Spec Ops a lot, it was very addicting and fun.

That's all I can really say about MW2..


Which should I get?

I don't care about the graphics and which is better and stuff on the games.

You've pretty much chosen for yourself in your reviews. I personally prefer Modern Warfare 2 for these reasons:



. I prefer the modern day setting and the modern guns and equipment are more my cup of tea.

. I prefered the maps on MW2, but that is just pure preference. You may like the Black Ops maps more.

. I know this sounds stupid but I had more fun playing Spec Ops in MW2 than Zombies in Black Ops. Again, just pure preference.

Modern Warfare 2.

Black Ops guns all look bulgy. The maps are terrible with terrbile boundries. One game-breaker about Black Ops was that you couldn't climb on hardly anything.

Black Ops has a lot more campers who just loooove to use claymors and pain-in-the-*** second chance.

I couldn't stand the killstreaks. I don't care if they're stackable or not, but at least give some good ones. I tried them all and they where all so terrible.

Sniping is pretty much gone from Black Ops

Knifing is too. Great.

Life span is so short taht there's no sence of fun chaos that Modern Warfare 2 had.

Sometimes it was too much and got annoying but usually that point near the end of a game where people are calling in stuff and you can run through some of it and live and it's all chaotic.. that was pretty fun and good feeling, Doesn't happen with Black Ops.

The customization was cool but not as good as they promised, plus most of the secondaries wheren't good either.

I took Black Ops back a few weeks ago and got $20, felt like I walked away with the better deal.

There's no way TreyArch spent a whole year on that game like they said they did.



Modern Warfare 2 has that fun chaos and better maps.

But you have to give up the customization and deal with a nuke every once in a while.



Plus, This years Call Of Duty is Modern Warfare 3

Might as well get back the the story and gameplay since it's being made by InfinityWard ( Modern Warfare 2 makers) and Sledgehammer.





Just gonna throw this out there: When Black Ops came out, I hoped on Modern Warfare 2 for a few rounds to see how dead it was.. and it was very dead.

But I've noticed a lot more people have joined since then and a lot more people are joining all the time, and at least half of them always have bad things to say about Black Ops.



So Modern Warfare 2 isn't dead, it's coming back rapidly.

i would def get mw2 i play it everyday and its still exciting (im not some loser 10 year old lol) but the weapons and attachments just give you hundreds of possibilities such as FMJ and stopping pro or just the one man army perk has like 50 diff possibilities to give you the upper hand. black ops was disappointing i agree with you i beat the campaign very fast on hardened i only died like 12 times. i prestiged in under 20 hours of gameplay and i always die a lot cuz people use the only three good guns in THE WHOLE GAME all the time and i personally hate them so i try not to use them and i get bludgeoned all the time. in MW2 when you shoot someone they die. when you run into a claymore you die. when you are near a grenade you die when you launch a noob tube at someone they die. its just so much more satisfying. plus the campaign is exciting i have beat it around 4 times and i haven't even bothered with the black ops campaign because its just too rushed and everything just not good. i vote MW2

I would advise you to wait for MW3 if you really don't like Black Ops that much. You will be dissapointed if you get MW2 because 1, hardly anyone plays online, 2, the people who still play do nothing but hack, 3, the game is old now. I feel you when you say MW2 was better, but you just have to face the fact that no one plays MW2 anymore and its Black Ops turn to be the "IT" game.

Cod 4 will still be the best in my opinion but if i had to choose it would be mw2 simply because the story is the only good part of black ops.

i like multiplayer on MW2 much better accept for the fact people suck at it so they quick scope and drop shot ALOT also on ps3 it is just a bad idea all together because people hack it and use aim bots



buy and xbox 360 and get black ops and MW2
