I have been telling my friend that the same technology in the cell is also in the xbox 360.
IBM stated years ago that the cell technology is the same tech in the 360, but for some reason it was overlooked until now.
Did you guys know that the 360 can also produce 2 times more polygons than the ps3.
Sony claimed at the ps3 launch that the ps3 is 2 teraflops. (2 trillion flops)Floating Point Operations/sec
The truth is the ps3 is about 600 Gflops (600 billion flops).
Sony lied again.
Microsoft claimed xbox 360 is the first console capable of 1 teraflop (1 trillion flops).
Microsoft told the truth.
360 is the first and only true console that is a SUPERCOMPUTER on the market today.
Sony doesnt want you to know that.
the XBOX is more powerful than the ps2
the XBOX 360 is more powerful than the ps3
In the end what really matters is the games though
but its nice to know that you got the most powerful console on the market
NOTE: ps3 is more expensive not because its more powerful, but because it has a bluray drive, if the ps3 had a dvd drive it would probably be cheaper than the xbox 360.
- both the ps3 and 360 uses 512 MB of RAM,
but sony split the ram in the ps3, 256 MB RAM for graphics, and 256 for the CPU.
360 on the other hand has unified memory 512, so they can use more than 256 for graphics, 360 can use 320 or up to 384 for graphics, thats why ps3 games ported from 360 suffers, washed out colors, frame rate problems, texture resolution, etc.
Games developed for ps3 runs fine, but still lack color variety like the upcoming killzone 2.
