Does 99 defence make a difference in Runescape?

Question

I'm considering getting 99 defence in runescape and becoming a tank. Im already 99 range and 94 mage. I plan on 99 defence and tank with veng. It sounds like ownage. But ive heard dobuts about 99 defence. It it worth it? Does 99 defence own as much as 99 str and 99 atk do? I would hope so. Please any advice or information is needed. Thank you!

Leveling up never hurts. Especially leveling up defence, it is worth it, people just don't notice it as much as attack or defence as it is harder to see the difference because very few people take in how much they are hit, but they do take in what they hit. If you have the time adn patience, then do it.

Get it to at least 97, 97 defence is as good as 99. All though if you do get 97 you might as well get 99. Getting 99 defence helps alot in runescape especially if you do alot of PvM and the monster uses 2 different types of attack. In my opinion you should.

Yes it does. I play a lot of clan wars and I am usually the last one alive or I end up taking down the last of the other team because they can't hit me. Also very helpful if you do a lot of killing for money rather than skilling.
