I installed the game need for speed carbon, then on game start up, just after the EA logo i would get ''nfsc.exe has stopped working''. I then looked that problem up on the web and fixed it by running the games compatibility mode at windows 98. That was all good. Now i'm playing the game and im 17% through my career. When i get to a particular part of one of the races i get the message again. ''nfsc.exe has stopped working''. Im using my HP Pavilion dv6. I would love some help. :)

Unfortunately EA don't like supporting their old games. I take it you're trying to run it on vista. Try setting the compatibility to windows xp (service pack 2), that might work better.

However the solution only works until you're about halfway through the game. Everyone is waiting for a better solution (like a patch from EA) but I think we're out of luck.

I just have xp installed alongside vista on my machine for games like NFSC.
