Is Nancy Drew Shadow At the Water's Edge really scary?

Okidoki, here goes:
When I was younger I was a HUGE nancy drew fan. I played the mild ones like "Kapu Cave" and stuff.
So anyways, when I saw Shadow At The Water's Edge, I JUMPED AT IT!
However;; I read reveiws and it seems .... overly creepy. I'm a little jumpy, but I watched the trailer and lived, but I intend on playing it with my 10-year-old, slightly fearful sister.

Which scenes are creepy? Is it too creepy for a 10-year-old? (She just turned 10), and is it way to scary?

Now, I haven't played any Nancy Drew anything or read anything, but isn't it for kids? I'm assuming its not scary at all. Have you ever read the Goosebumps books? I bet its like that! Also, its no Dead Space 2 ahaha. Sorry, this probably wasn't the best help ever but I mean well, Happy New Year :)

Scariest Nancy Drew Game
?

Mild spoilers, nothing that would ruin the game (imo):

I used to play Nancy Drew games a lot when I was younger, and I also recently got Shadow At The Water's Edge for my 10 year old sister. The game as a whole is not the scariest Nancy Drew Game I've ever played--in general, the threats you receive are more eerie than outright scary--but there are a few scenes that are potentially upsetting. In one early sequence, a ghost jumps at Nancy in a mirror and the mirror shatters (this freaked my sister out and gave her nightmares that night). Mid-way through the game, other things happen such as seeing ghostly shadows on balconies, seeing ghostly footprints, etc., but these aren't too bad. The worst part in the game is at the very end (like a lot of Nancy Drew games), where a "ghost" jumps out at you and pins you underwater. You have to quickly cut through a complicated knot, with the creepy ghost staring at you, or you drown. I played it in advance before giving the game to my sister for Christmas, and frankly, it terrified me. I intend on being with her when she gets to that part to remind her that it's only a game...

The other thing about this game is that a lot of the puzzles you have to solve are Sudoku or similar, which my more spatially-oriented sister found too difficult even on Junior Detective level. If you play the game with her, that shouldn't be a problem, though.

Good luck and have fun! :)

Honestly, i thought it would be scary and had a friend come over when i played, but it was fine. The only really creepy part is when a you see a ghost in the mirror and you turn around and she is not there and when you look back she id even closer..... check out this to give you a sneak peak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFMUOgRWaPU Also another creepy part is the end, but not to bad. As for your sister, you might try a less creepier one first like Ghost dogs of moon Lake, The Haunting of Castle Mallloy, or The Phantom of Venice.

Hope that helps!!

I just started playing it, and I already saw the ghost twice (the mirror and then the shadow on the balcony thing) but I swear everytime I come out in the garden and the creepy music plays, it creeps me out so much. The empty and semi-dark hallways kinda bothers me too. It's like I'm the only one in there. I get creeped out easily and I'm 18. xD probably depends on the one who's playing :)

Truly, there is no comparison absolutely....simply because viewing television depends on the gunky thoughts of a Television set entertainer who's main concerns are budget, ratings and popularity and also to Hell with theme integrity, or, for that matter, anything creative truly.
