Question:
Did Bioshock: Infinite have a bad release date?

If Infinite came out at the end of 2012 with the same level of quality, I'm sure there would have been Game of the Year awards, which would make more people get the game sooner. With all the costs that went into making Infinite, they'll need tons of sales in the first month if Irrational hopes not to go down.

I think its end of the year release date was what helped Skyrim get huge sales with its Game of the Year nominations. Infinite could've gone the same route. Am I right?

It would have been better if it had been released in October. But like Skyrim, it would have had absolutely nothing to do with the GOTY awards. Black Friday and Christmas sales are the real reason developers want to get their games out between September - November. GOTY awards help in terms of free publicity and make it more noticed, but all they do is confirm what most people already know.

Also, Skyrim sold over 7 million copies within the FIRST week on sale. This is prior to it winning any awards (aside from glowing reviews from review sites.)

But to answer the headed question: Yes and no. It's not the best time, but think about it, it really doesn't have too much to compete with at the moment so it is likely this is the game that many people will be play throughout the summer.

a number of the apparent issues to assume from those 2 consoles, as predicted, is extensive opposition in revenues. they are going to be overpriced, this would properly be a gimme, and that for the time of addition they'll proportion some enormous named titles. don't be shocked in case you spot greater aggressive, group based gameplay in those next gen consoles popping out. With those next gen console, don't be shocked in case you spot greater integration of HD gameplay as properly.
