Half-life 2 Beta help ?

ok, so i downloaded half-life 2 beta and open the exe.. i clicked new game and create server .. but the error occured:

Missing wav file 'sound/UI/buttonrollover.wav'
Missing wav file 'sound/UI/buttonclickrelease.wav'
maxplayers set to 20
CModelLoader::Map_IsValid: No such map 'background01_dx60'
map load failed: background01_dx60 not found or invalid

The same problem,same message appear even i choose another map, please help!!

The game which you have downloaded, might not have the proper files in it. maybe it could be the patch for Half-Life2 to play the new version of that map or sound...

try to download half-life2 from steam,maybe that could help.

I assume you mean the demo, the beta is long gone since the final release was made a while back. Below is a link to download the demo.
