Best FREE or unknown MMORPG?

Question

I'm bored of playing World of Warcraft, Aion, Runescape, Guild Wars and everything else.
What are some good free MMOs I can play?

I'm not into stuff like Maple Story or all these games that look like they're made for 10 year olds.
No browser based games either please!

Atlantica Online is a free MMORPG that you should definitely try.



It's a Korean made online game that has already won numerous awards.



It's gameplay is actually similar to Final Fantasy because battle is turn-based. You control numerous characters which you have to give orders to within a certain time frame. Then it will be your opponents turn to attack.



The PVP matches in Atlantica Online are just amazing! This game is definitely a breath of fresh air when compared to the majority of online games out there. You should definitely try the game for yourself.

The game I'm most addicted to is Legend: Legacy of the Dragons is a free-to-play, browser-based MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) anyone can play online with flash, and you don't miss any features if you don't pay into the game

The game you can choose to be 1 of 2 races, you complete quests and fight monsters for armour and items, then you can battle people from the other race in the battlefields. Game just got a great update to it and its not a new game tons of players been around about 2 years on an English server. You can chat with people of your own race, form groups for fighting and join clans as well.

It's this pirate game where you get to attack others and have wars and complete quests. It's free so you should give it a try. Based on the games you've said you've played I bet you would be top pirate (just don't blow me up too much XD )

Check out http://mmohut.com for an enormous list of these free mmorpg / mmo games. I use that site to find new games to play. Every week I try a new game =) - It's a lot of fun. They have like every single MMORPG categorized nicely with reviews, screenshots, videos and more. Heck they even list the game's system requirements =p.



They list all the big non-download MMORPGs too.

Dungeons and Dragons Online is downloadable and it's mostly free (Used to have mandatory subscription, but the developers wanted to attract su--I mean customers). Be aware that it requires some knowledge of D&D 3.5 (Not 4.0 mind you) and there are two payment options (micro-transactions and subscription of $15 a month) with content locked away if you don't pay. Try not to go alone though, as it was meant to be played in a group known as a "party".

Just because it is cartoonish doesn't mean it is for kids. Maple Story isn't the best, but you already listed all the better MMOs. Give it a try. Or you could always play Everquest.

there are player pirates animal and mosteer taming ...house collapses where items are up for grabs castle collapses that even means..yes you can have place them where u want if the plots available....grafics are outdated but for the deph of gameplay at hand its a breeze to look over what other game can u steal your enemys housekeys if hes dumb enough to have them on him....AFK macroing is allowed also besides mineral gathering...Player run vendors...auctions on the forums, Events at all hours of the day all types of tourneys...but best of all freedom is here...u can take your enemys head as a trophy...and with a recent partch their skull or brain or femur bone and so on..yeah this game is hard core....hard to find out about...i just did 6 moths back...greatest find of all. and they will never delete your account for inactivity only thing you have to worry about when u dont log on for a while is if u have a house full of items, chests, etc. it can fall if you dont get on to refresh it in 14 days. be careful because murders dont care about begginers...death is eminent here...id advise you to at least get a lil mage training and learn about a recall and mark spell and runes..great for a quick escape from PKs. -ruthaford on irc chat
