Is there a 99 lives cheat for the original crash bandicoot for ps1 that can be used WITHOUT game shark? The code i looked up and tried before does not work. Please help.

There isn't. But there is a secret area after using the passwords on one of the later levels. It was one of those machine levels. There would be a gem platform you would get on that would get you to an area above the starting point where there's about 20 or 30 lives. You keep going in the same direction for the lives and you can get to the end of the level (it's the one where you can see the end of the level right when you start, but you take a long way around before getting there) by going downwards. Hope that helps. It's a level on the third island past the castle level and the ruin level.
