skyrim legendary skills not working?

i recently got up to level 100 in sneak and set it to legendary. after that i started to level it up more and it has just reached 100 again and wont level up anymore. i thought that legendary skills would allow me to keep leveling it up. it also has the thing where it tells me if i want to make it legendary even though it already is. how can i fix this?

In short, Leveling was stopped at Level 81 is for the General health and abilities of the Dragonborn. "Legendary" reset allows the Dragonborn to exceed Level 81, that is all it does. [If you have only the basic game you do not need to exceed 81) You should only make legendary a skill tree that has a lot of Perks Points, to spread around on lesser skills. Get to Legendary Enchantment and Smithy and make your best enchanted Armour. Then use the perks and start over since they are easy to redo. Speech is so hard I would never turn it in. So, be careful

The skill tree itself can never exceed 100 points.



A side note, when using enchanted "fortify" items combined perked skill and enchantment offers no additional help after 80% (to 90%) depending on the skill.

You misunderstood how they work. In theory someone who gets all their skills to 100, will reach a maximum level of 81. The 'legendary skills' let you reset a skill to 15 so you can train it back up to 100, gaining even more character levels as you go, breaking the Lv81 cap.



It's not just for people who have levelled fully either, someone who only uses a small selection of skills could set some to legendary, and in doing so be able to get their character level higher than if they just hit 100 on those skills and stopped there.



But what Legendary skills do not do is let you level the skills past 100. When it hits 100 a second time you can make it legendary 'again' and set it back to 15 for further character levelling.
