What does it mean to proc in World of Warcraft?

I've been playing for over 2 years, closer to 3 and I have an 80 Hunter, and building up a Holy Paladin. To this day I still have no idea what it means to "Proc"

It means 'when a special ability triggers' and can be on an item as well as a talent etc.



For example, if you have Fiery Weapon enchanted on your sword, it will sometimes hit for extra damage. When it does that, it Procs.



It comes from 'Programmed Random Occurance'

T6 (Tier 6) is an armor set you get from raids that requires level 70 to equip. Tiers 1-6 basically increase in effectiveness the higher up they go. Proc rate means how many times something goes into effect, particularly in combat. For instance, some enchants will say they have a 'chance' to do something, therefore the proc rate is how often it occurs. AP is attack power. Check out your character screen on the bottom right, drag down to melee stats and you'll find out what it entails.

every 6 sec my rend will enable instant usage of overpower and when even that happens I would refer to that as a proc.

When I played it meant for an ability with a chance on hit or cast to go off, like getting a critical strike.

For example every time your Pierce Armor buff apperars on your buff bar that means that buff proced and yes that also works or trinkets or weapons that have a chance of adding or doing anything. anytime it does add something or give you a buff it "proced"

exemple you have a trinket that have a small chance to increase your Attack power by 200.



Everytime you get that bonus you can say it just proc!
