I'm really excited for Call of Duty 5, but it is going to be M rated. My mom (never asked my dad) had a sudden impulse lately not to let me buy m games, but i tell her about how we play grand theft auto 4 at my friends house, and she laughs at the stories. How can I convince her that I am worthy for this game (Call of Duty 5)?

I'm sixteen and my parents let me do whatever i want to because I'm smart and doing well in school. I'm suitable to buy Call of Duty 5 and I'm mature enough for it. my friends under 16 still buy rated M games like Halo and Half life. Your mom may care about your policies but anyway it try be mature about it. Tell her that it a first person game that violence is the nature of the game and that is always make real good and very realistic in nature. Don't know what's up with your parents policies though.

Sorry, your mom is right. Children under 18 should not be playing M rated games, thats why they're rated M.

Yes, you're 16, now read what I said. M rated games are rated for just that - mature people. You are under 18 and not mature yet.

Guy below me: Obviously maturity didn't pop up for you, either, since you feel the need to call me a "dumba$$" for having a different opinion about you.

I never said you turn mature when you turn 18, I said that M rated games are MADE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE 18, not for 16 year old kids. There is an entire rating system specifically for teenagers for a reason. If the ratings didn't matter, they wouldn't be there.

well honestly, any game involving war and at the same time is realistic, is going to be rated M. Tell her that its only a game and its better to play a gory realistic game than a pussy unrealistic game because unrealistic games make people want to do the same **** they do in the game, which in turn basically makes them nut cases. You see, its proven that when you play more realistic gory games, its possible to become scared of those real life situations in which case would make you a more careful person. PLUS **** IT, COD 5 IS GONNA BE THE BEST GAME EVER!!!! and hell, if you're in high school you hear worse things than what you're going to hear in the game.

You should wait till you are mature enough to play the game, age wise. Sorry buddy. I am glad to hear of a parent doing their job, and making sure to keep M rated games away from their children.

Besides, a lot of other good games are coming out.

tell her that first person shooter games improve your response time, reflex times, improves peripheral vision, and also hand-eye coordination. who ever said video games were all bad.

you can also tell her how much your gonna learn about history from the game. lol.

i think of your dad and mom have the the suitable option explanation for not getting you the pastime. its a pastime rated M. for me, i might get it for a toddler if he's above 15 or older. yet i guess you're below it.
