You have to LIKE those kinds of games. Try playing more of the Warcraft series. If you get the story background, progressing in World Of Warcraft may seem more appealing to you because you'll recognize more places, people, and challenges. Plus meeting Illidan will seem freakin' awesome... until he kills you.
What about it attracts you? To me it's the environment, completing difficult quests, stomping the crap out of Horde (PVP server), saving gold to buy some good items, instances, etc. I personally LOVE RPGs, and sometimes it's better if you have friends involved to play with.
I'm on Jubei'Thos (oceanic) server at the moment, i'm thinking of transfering to another PVP server. Mine sucks, and it's 61% horde. Those bastards.
Oh yeah, try out different classes. Some of them are just dreadfully boring to play. For example, I have a 68 warrior. I love him to death but after a while he starts to taste like beans so I trade over to my 44 priest. It's all about your gaming style and what you want out of a game. You can e-mail me at boo_6917@yahoo.com if you want to try to figure it out.
Good luck.
(A normal problem with people: they don't READ their quests, so they're not really playing with the storyline, they're just playing. If you go along with each quest, and read it, it's actually quite fun and adds feeling to the game.)
