I just got into Pokemon games on the Gameboy advance and I wanted to get a Nintendo handheld system to play it on. I used to have a DS but I sold it and I knew it had a Gameboy slot. I did some research and found out the 3Ds doesent have a Gameboy slot. that very much disappointed me. I know they have Pokemon games for the DS i can play on with my 3Ds but is it worth it to get the 3Ds? Im in a dilemma here so if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. And please be thorough with your answer and not something like "I dont know" because its useless to even answer. Please and thank you anyone who can help.

I have a DS and DSIXL and others and have been playing handheld video games all my life. First of all, the 3DS is going to be more expensive than the other systems because it is newer and that is a downside if your worried about that factor. The 3DS is very nice, but I am not a huge fan of it because when you are at an angle, the 3D does not appear very good. In order to enjoy the full 3D effect, it is best to be looking straight on at the 3DS, which is a downside. I have heard many good things about the 3DS though. I actually would suggest getting a DSIXL because it is cheaper and works really great and is one of my personal favorites if you want to consider any other systems! If you are mainly concerned about playing gameboy games than I would just get another DS because it is compatible with both gameboy, DS, and DSIXL games, but if you want something newer and nicer than I would go with a DSI or DSIXL or 3DS. The 3DS is nice because you can use DS games (which inclues DSI or DSIXL games) with it or 3DS game, but the major downside to the 3DS (and even the DSIXL and DSI) is that it does not work with gameboy games. Basically, if you are mainly concerned about using gameboy games and would like to use DS games, I would get the DS, but if you want something really new and nice than I would go with the 3DS. If you get the 3DS, then you can always get a gameboy or SP too because they are very cheap on ebay, just to play your gameboy games. Please let me know your decision and hope this helps!

My brother has a DSi and my cousin a 3DS. I prefer the DSi. The 3DS is barely 3D and hurts your eyes after a while.

Get an Xbox 360 if you can afford it
