Do you have to play Batman: Arkham Orgins to understand Batman: Arkham Knight?

I played all the Batman Arkham games except the Batman Arkham Orgins and the upcoming Batman Arkham Knight. I'm really not interested in Orgins as much. Do I have to still play the story to understand Knight or is it spoiler-free?

Arkham Origins is a prequel that takes place before the events of Arkham Asylum. Arkham Knight continues the story from Arkham City onwards. Arkham Knight is the 'third' game since Arkham Origins is considered to be outside the trilogy.

arkham asylum/city/knight was made by rocksteady but origins was made by someone else. fans and rocksteady does not include origins as it was not made by rocksteady. in arkham knight there are a few references to city and asylum but not origins, so your answer is no you do not need to play origins. AND it was well rubbish with a very disappointing riddler ending where you do all the hard work for him with a quick easy fail at the end and your hard work was for nothing really so I wouldn't bother with origins at all

not precisely cause it's showing the past time though .....but the arkham knight'll happen in future .....(but i would play it if i were you)
