Skyrim house upgrade bug?

Question

I bought a house in whiterun for free i did the glitch where you ask the person if you could buy it exit out and store in a chest so.... i did the same for the alchemy laboratory upgrade and it didnt work and now when i bought it for 500 gold i went back to my home only to find it wasnt there and i bought it again still didnt work it shows me the option to buy it every time HELP

Load a previous save, and try again. If it doesn't work, get the house for free and just buy the upgrades that don't work.

It have got to be some form of glitch but imperials quite dude they invaded the properties of nords seeing that i'm a fan of the darkish elf I always am one for the hearth resistance for combating dragons I hated. The imperials I to this day attack every imperial or imperial convoys going down the avenue I ambush them i am a rebel :)
