Wii and PS3 have movement control. For PS3, you can move your controller around to interact with some games. I use it for Ghost Recon. When I get into fire, I jolt my controller forward making my guy slide to the ground for cover. Also Warhak, you can control flight by moving controller.

Everything sh4d0w10 said is bull. The PS3 has the better hardware by far. First off PS3 can play demos too, FOR FREE. It has internet browser FOR FREE. Shadow says the 360 has a more powerful gpu that is completely false. The ps3 has a 550 gpu while the 360 has a 500 gpu. Both CPUs were made by IBM but the ps3 has 9 built in CPUs with one of them being the mane one. The 360 only has 3 CPUs so dont let shadows wording fool you. They do the same thing only the PS3 has 8 CPUs to divert the power and one too controll the others. I dont know what shadow thinks GPU is because he brings it up over and over saying 360 has a more powerful graphic proccesing unit than ps3 which it doesnt. I dont know how he knows that EVERYONE has a 360 already because I dont. so honestly get a damn facts straight before you start dissing a system.

the ps3 uses bluray (50giga bites of memory per disc) and the 360 uses hd dvd ( about 4)

the 360 is already making a new system because hd dvd failed and bluray didn't... im not even talking about game quality or anything, x-box gave up... besides, the ps3 now has motion and rumble controls (stupid lawsuit held that up... but sony fixed it while microsoft is now suffering)... any way, the ps3 is future proof, but they are both decent, if you like halo that is

PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, Was not even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements.



Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:



1). A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%. Despite some people say, that new 360 has no breakdown issues - just visit Xbox section of Yahoo answers and see for yourself an amount of complaints.

It's difficult to compare their graphics, because 360 has a video chip with totally different structure and operating memory is divided differently in both consoles. Xbox isn't that versatile in dividing tasks between CPU and GPU as PS3. That's why PS3 exclusives look better than 360's exclusives.

9). Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 15 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it. That's why in some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".

12). There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.

13). The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console. Biggest games weigh only 25 GB (Xbox 360 will need more than 3 discs even for those).

14). On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.

15). PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 250 GB will cost you around 170$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.

16).Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. There is a cheaper 40GB version of PS3.

17).Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.

18). PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control - you move controller - game responds. Wii has it, Xbox 360 - doesn't. PS3 is getting rumble controller (Dualshock 3) on 15.04.2008, Japan already has it. On www.ebay.com I saw those controllers on sale 50$ and up (unofficial import).

19).On PS3 you can help sick people by running Folding Home project. Wii and Xbox 360 didn't even think about it.

20).New 40GB is 399$ or 399 euro (depends on the region) - it has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, has 2 USBs instead of 4, no built-in card reader, but it's the same PS3, strong, reliable, less noisy, different cooling system. The price is friendly.

21). But, to be just, I'm not a PS3 fanboy, so (despite I own one) hear this - PS3 games (exclusives) are very hard to develop due to complicated Cell's architecture. We have to wait till developers will figure out how to develop games properly. Sometimes multiplatform games run not so good on PS3 due to the same developing issues - it's hard for developers to get a grip on such advanced technologies

I wont get into all the pros and cons of both cause its been covered. Here is what sold me on the PS3. At first I bought a 360 and not 10 minutes of playing this brand new console I got the red rings of death. I took that POS back to the store and have owned a ps3 ever since. I run my ps3 for 10 to 12 hours sometimes playing online with not one issue. No freezing, no crashing, nothing. Besides the fact that blu ray is the futue of all game consoles, if you are going to spend all that money for a system dont you want it to last for more than a year. Also with the 80gb ps3 $399 now its cheaper than the 360 elite so there goes that lame argument for the xbox fanboys. PS SEAN if your friend paid $1000 for a $399 ps3 he is an idiot. 3% hard ware failure for ps3, 33% for xbox. Who has defects and needs the warranty more? Opps looks like the 360. let's face it, xbox 360 has been out for a while, ps3 has been out for a year, but no improvements. sure, the ps3 has an awesome blu-ray and powerful processor, but come on people. you really care about multimedia more than games? sadly, the blu-ray is probably the only advantage the ps3 has. graphics are ok, but there's almost no good downloadable content or anything. xbox live is tough to beat when it comes to the best online experience. you can make friends and chat with them with a single button press, while you play the game. ps3, you have to quit the game your playing, and go to the friends option. but there's only a little icon and an about me page, 360 has customable for everything, and achievement unlocking is much better, as for ps3 you have to buy content. most of all, ps3 has almost no decent games. sure, mgs4 is great, but look, it's only one game. the 360 has dozens of decent titles, and they're all available for 360 only. if there are multi platform games for both consoles, 360 games would come out first and you would have to wait for months for it to come out. lair was a big disappointment, and mgs4 was supposed to come out last year spring. granted, i don't hate the ps3, but the ps3 is basically a blu-ray with a psp in it.

360 in my opinion because:

-same graphical power as PS3, contrary to popular belief (THEY USE A VERY SIMILAR LEVEL OF GRAPHICS CARD AND PROCESSING POWER)

-better range of games (PS3 is mostly shooters and driving games, but Xbox has a great range for anyone.

-better controls (six-axis ruined the great PS controllers, in my opinion)

-better multiplayer (yes, it does cost about $5 a month, deal with it- you're getting much better service than PSN)

PS3 by far I have both but ps3 by far.



Graphics-PS3 has a 550 gpu while 360 only has 500gpu and with the hdmi cable the ps3 graphics ARE greatly better than 360.



Games- Ps3 has the better games. Besides halo and gears of war their are no games that are worth getting that are exclusives of 360. PS3 has resistance, socom, mlb the show, metal gear solid, warhawk, haze, killzone, god of war, motorstorm, grand turismo, final fantasy etc. Also games come out faster for ps3 unless it is a game that has to be realseased on the same day for both systems. Games like unreal tourniment 3 which came out about 5 months earlier for ps3 than 360. You will never see a game released for 360 before ps3.



controlls- Hold both of the controllers and you will like ps3 more. The 360 controller feals bulky in your hands. Buttons like white and black are hard or unconfortable to reach. The ps3 has finnaly fixed the 6 axis so now they are perfect in the new dualshock 3 controller. It has sixaxis and rumble. The ps3 controller also feels like it was made specifically for your hands. All buttons feal comfortable to press.



Multiplayer and price- Ps3 online is free!!!! $5 a month for 360 adds up quickly. The ps3 is more expensive to buy but if you play online the ps3 will be cheaper overtime.



MISC- The 360 breaks if you move it. Get a red ring on all your games if you accidently tap it. The 360 overheats very easily and will turn off after about 2 hours playing. The PS3 has never overheated for me while my 360 does a lot. You can not watch long movies one the 360 and I love scarface. The PS3 also has blueray so can play all dvds. The PS3 can also play ps2 and ps1 games while the 360 can not play all original xbox games.



PS3 also has internet browser, it also has HOME coming out soon which should be madd nice.

To be honest 360. i used to be a play station fan but they went too far with it. my mate just bought one today it ended up costing him about $1000 which is an absolute rip when the sales man went on about the defects and warranty he NEEDED. He said eventually the ps3 within time will cost more than it should WAY MORE!!! I meen sure it might have more things than the xbox like the internet and stuff but you don't need that in a gaming console, i mean for f#*k sake you might aswell get a computer WHICH COSTS LESS THAN THE PS3!! the xbox has the best online play plus demos and many other great online features.(just think about how crappy the online will be if its free how do they run good servers with no money because sony already loses money from each ps3 sold) the xbox has a more powerful gpu and a processor made for games not doing STRICT mathematical calculations. and the ps3 failed with blue ray in it because it doesn't have that much benefit for 2 reasons.



1. the ps3 (piece of s|-|1# 3) has a IBM cell based processor with 7 Synergistic Processor Elements (like mini virtual cores) with 1 logical core. this means the Cell processor in the ps3 uses linear processing. Meaning its the code that tells it exactly what to do. The xbox 360 tri core processor is open processing. Meaning it doesn't need as much code to tell it what to do. it is variable based. meaning the data on the disk for a ps3 has to be more taking up more space. plus most games have a variable processing environment so they choose which core to work on the ps3 is not going to have that a programmer would have to tell each spe (Synergistic Processor Element) what to do at wat times (uses alot of code)



2. Microsoft holds the rights to direct x. direct x is a virtual rendering application used in windows and xbox360. using direct x makes models take up less data space and use less gpu memory plus the 360 has a more powerful gpu.



in conclusion a 360 game and ps3 game are about the same in quality and length.



its sad that Sony has to use a 3rd party software producer to sell there weak graphics, gameless not space efficient, garbage system (MGS4)
