This isn't all. You'll need to sort out the ROM settings to make it work and make it possible to save. If you need help with the settings, search Youtube, if you are still stuck just send me a message. I got my DS working at 120% speed when I'm roaming around and the speed goes up to 300% when I'm on the menus and battle screens, so these people talking about slowdowns haven't set the options properly

Its actually simple, start by downloading the GBA emulator, you could do this by simply just typing in GBA emulator in Google or Yahoo search engines and there will be loads of places you will get the emulator from, after you do this you will need games so type in Free GBA roms in google or yahoo and you will get loads of other websites with them, and on those sites you just look at the list of games that they have and you download them which in your case will be pokemon, you could get all the different verisons too :). To store the GBA games just open your emulator go to file and open and drag the downloaded game into there, so everytime you want to play your games its right there. There are also nintendo DS and Gameboy emulators but they aren't as good as the GBA ones and they will just create alot of hassle and headaches. The GBA is the best. Hope i helped :)

Well, the old game boy color games are easy to find and download. But the newer games, like Pokemon Pearl are a bit harder to find because it would sort of be illegal if you got it.
I think it's funner to just play them on the DS; Christmas is just right around the corner!
But to answer your question, you need to find a Nintendo DS emulator (should be pretty easy to find) and a Pokemon Pearl .rom file.
I've done gameboy color roms several times but never DS... how would you be able to play it since it has a touch screen? Do you just move your mouse where your finger would be or what? I dunno, but I do know that it would just be better to have/play on a real DS rather than a computer.

download no$gba and look for the rom from a site from another answer and your computer doesnt have to be that good to use it. it says no$gba but is actually a nintendo DS emulator. search for a pokemon platinum rom instead of pearl. they are in japanese mostly but platinum is a lot better then pearl.

You're gonna experience tons of slowdowns if you're playing it on your computer. Unless you play it on mute and speed up the frame skips, it's only frustrating.
From my experience DS Emulators are incomplete and crappy. I'd suggest you to play Pokeglobal though as it is a near complete D/P game that allows you to play with other people in real time. More info:
http://atqonline.com/pokeglobal/ - Doesn't need you to download or install any stuff. You must have java installed in your computer system in order to play though it's linked on the page given. - Doesn't need you to download or install any stuff. Emulators for DS exist, but they suck unless you have a top-of-the-line computer, and even then they have trouble playing them. I tried, on my $8000 computer and it worked, but could barely play it. it was laggy and crappy.
Just go get a DS and the game. Seriously

Alright, you need an adapter, USB/DS game card. I'm not sure what they are called. You may be able to download it legally if you own it, if my last question is answered in the affirmative.

You can probably find one, but D.S. Emulators suck.....
