Ps3 Pros:

1) Quiet

2) Motion sensitive controllers

3) You can use any Bluetooth headset, keyboard, mouse, etc....

4) Blu-ray

5) Lack of flashing lights on front of machine!

6) Built in wi-fi card

7) HDMI included

8) Free Online Community and Game Play

9) Tech support speaks english and appears to be located in America, they understood my name and my question.

10) Controllers come with built in rechargable battery and can be charged with any usb port.

11) easy to navigate menus

12) No ridiculous power brick, one cord, if you want to take your ps3 with you somewhere you only need the controller, the unit and the power cord.

Ps3 Cons:

1) No IR receiver, you can't use your regular universal remote to control the ps3 you need a bluetooth which means an extra remote.

2) Shape, this one sounds stupid, but the rounded shape of the ps3 really annoys me because you can't stack, say your wii, or even lay your remotes on top of the unit. (maybe you shouldn't do that anyhow LOL)

3) Less games, or at this point I guess the better point would be less games made for the ps3, instead of built for the xbox and ported to the ps3, this is however changing and in the future will be less of an issue.

Xbox 360 Pros:

1) Great online setup, lots of features which some may miss on the ps3, many probably will not

2) great game line up with a head start on ps3

3) Easy to navigate menus

4) Native Netflix Support

Xbox 360 Cons:

1) Noise

2) Build Quality ( i don't have enough time with my ps3 to comment on build quality, but it appears to be well made)

3) Online service is $50 per year.

4) Tech support, I have called xbox live support several times, it is impossible to get them to understand what the issue is or even my name, I even gave up once.

Well, both consoles are great, but I definitely suggest a 360 because of it's online and popularity!

I'll tell you the differences between these two consoles as the PS3 and 360 are slightly identical:

-The 360 can only play DVD's while the PS3 can play both DVD's and Blu-Ray. (Who cares! You want games, not movies)

-The PS3 has free online while the 360 doesn't not. But I have heard that that XBL is better than PSN, even though XBL costs money. Must be because XBL has minimal lag.

-The PS3 will have an Internet Browser while the 360 does not. (You already got a PC!)

-The PS3 has more exclusives than the 360. (Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Uncharted and more...)

-The 360 has more popularity and sold more systems than the PS3. (Your friends will even own one, I think...)

-The 360 will have Project Natal coming out. It's similar to Sony's Eye-Toy, but it'll be A LOT better!

If you're a strong gamer that will play for hours in a row, then buy a 360 because you'll enjoy the online experience (Even though it's not free), and the gameplay. XBL doesn't lag as much and it's really fun! Just watch out for any annoying kids on XBL (But don't get scared, you'll probably find some mature kids though). If you're an old kid or a teenager, then this is for you!

If you're a casual person that usually loves relaxing while listening to music, browsing the net and watching DVD's a lot, then buy a PS3. The PSN will be worse than XBL, even if it's free, because it has less popularity and it has a good chance of lagging if you have a crap connection. So if you're a adult, then this is for you!

Also, don't believe the RROD stuff that happens on your 360. Because the 360's that Microsoft are selling in the market now has a low faliure rate. That's why people are saying, "PS3 FTW!!!" or "PS3 IS DA BOMB!!1" or "ps3 rules".

Here are the games I recommend you should start with (Well, you don't have to):

If you buy a 360:

Halo 3

GTA IV

Gears of War

Mass Effect

BioShock

If you buy a PS3:

Resistance: Fall of Man

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction

Uncharted

inFamous

MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots

Now, before you go and buy a console and you don't know which, research these games and consoles and find out which is the best!

Also, if you're buying a 360, buy an Elite because it'll deliver a better gaming experience (120GB HDD, bundled HDMI cables (Unless you got a HDTV), headset etc.) unlike the Arcade (256MB memory card). For PS3, if you buy one, buy a HDMI cable, as the console won't have a HDMI cable included with it (If you have a HDTV).

But, in my opinion, I suggest you buy an Xbox 360. It's a lot better than PS3.

I'm sorry this is long, happy gaming.

As a preface, let me state that I don't give a hoot about the whole PS3 vs. Xbox360 debate. Let me also state that I do not personally own an Xbox360, but have spent a lot of time on my cousin's Xbox. However, I did own a PS3 for a time and I am personally more inclined towards the PS3, for the following reasons:

1. Online is free. They say online on Xbox is better because you have to pay, but I shrug at that statement considering all the crap one hears about the trolls on Xbox Live. I've never heard griping about the people on PS3 internet (not to say they're not there, but you don't hear about it like you do Xbox).

2. PS3 is beefier, from my understanding. Not that it really makes a difference since console games are tailored towards their respective systems. But it's pretty damn cool that the Department of Defense buys 2,200 of them to build supercomputers.

3. PS3 comes with a wireless connection!!! Prepare to spend $100 for an Xbox wireless adapter if you wish to connect it to the i-net that way.

What I hate absolutely hate and detest about the PS3:

No backwards compatibility (at least, for the newer ones). It's a complete crock but whatev.

So there you have it. My thoughts on why I prefer the PS3.

*tries to be non fanboyish*

In my honest opinion i would say the 360 despite its faults.

Generally a better game lineup, better online support, cool online features - facebook, netflix/skyplayer, last.fm, twitter and so on.

More money is put into the online side, theres more DLC available, more people online, if you like online play theres more online games.

It's alot cheaper than a PS3, which although isnt a bad console at all, it's more suited to people who will use it as a media centre than a gaming console.

The xbox does have its faults the console RROD thing i annoying but new consoles dont have that problem and its covered in a 3yr warrenty regardless.

You do have to pay for xbox online but it is far superior.

No required hard drive installations on the xbox and it's a lot less prentenious.

Oh and party chats, if you get an xbox you'll get what i mean.

wow man only 7 mins. with a bunch of remarks lol... well this is a well disputed arguement that almost never dies... i would suggest going on gamestop.com and searching the price of the systems and checking how much your parents are willing to pay for... also ask your friends what they have so you can all play online together...

my opinion... well wii is out definitely

xbox 360 is cheaper but i have heard many stories that they burn out and ps3 never dies out... also ps3 is free online while xbox 360 costs money to play online... i like ps3 more because after 2 years it will be equal to price with a xbox 360 ... i mean thats $100 for online for 2 years i think and ps3 has better graphics... xbox 360 has a few more titles that are more gorey so it depends on what your going to play cause xbox is more renowned for rated M games the rest stink and ps3 has more variety but not a great titles... ps3 overall better

I own both and would recommend the PS3. PS3 has less break downs and better/more classic games to choose from to download and play. The only downside is the missing backwards compatibility. I recommend going to gamestop.com They have a refurbished PS3 unit which has the backwards compatibility on it for sale.

Now with the Xbox360 you have considerably higher chances of getting a unit that will RROD or E error on you. The game library is far less on Xbox originals but this is because you can also use the original Xbox game disc to play those games.

Again my pick is the PS3. Hope this helped. if you have more questions feel free to email me marzucobbt@yahoo.com

well ps3 has a blu-ray player and it has a free online gaming communtity. xbox 360 has a much larger gaming community that you have to pay for every month, 3 months, or year depending on which live membership card you buy and i like the setup of the marketplace on it better. Check what your friends have because it is a lot more enjoyable to play with friends than random people all the time

Well they both have their pluses and minuses, but they are also very simillar. I have a ps3, and have no desire for a 360. I would lean towards the ps3 but I am not unbiased. But as an honest review, I love my ps3. With the ps3 you don't have to pay for online play which I like, plus I prefer the controller for ps3 over xbox.

(If you get a ps3, check out a game called Demon's Souls, its hard but awesome)

Each system will offer the same basic features. What you really need to look at is which console exclusive games you really want to play.

If I were you I would just get a good PC. I personally don't like console games much though.
