I play my main character as a two handed warrior. The only magic I use is restoration. I use thief to steal stuff. Do you think it's easiest to play as warrior, mage, theif or a mix?

I play a one handed warrior and use a destruction spell. i only use destruction and restoration spells. And i also steal stuff. Its helpful to have a follower as the enemy usually attacks the follower.

Well, at this point I have a level 36 Redguard warrior, a level 27 Breton mage, and a level 16 Wood Elf thief. The warrior absolutely fits my playstyle the best, but I tried the other two because I wanted to see what else the game had to offer.

- In my opinion, being a warrior is pretty straightforward, I hit a point where things got hard until I enchanted some stuff with magic resistance, worked on blocking, and smithed some better armor. The early teens were challenging, but now with good armor and good weapons I can lay waste to anything in my path.

- The destruction mage started off strong and has continued to be strong. In my opinion being a mage and dual wielding something like ice spike is so good that it's almost cheesy. I had to ratchet up my difficulty to keep from getting bored.

- The thief is fun and archery is an awesome skill. Being a mischievous pickpocket is too entertaining. The only problem with her is that at the level she's at, she's great at a distance (sneak kills with a bow and arrow are tasty), but if her cover's blown she gets her butt kicked.

So, that's my read on them so far. I can only assume that the thief will get better as I level up other skills like my light armor. The mage is just killer, but not my favorite because it's soooo blasty, and the warrior starts off slow but turns into a god if you build it right.

I like one handed warrior with magic in the off-hand. I tried a pure mage and found I was running out of mana (though I hear you can get enchants that reduce the mana used for spells by 100%). I also find the inability of the thief and warrior to heal themselves very limiting.

I think by far the easier to play is a warrior. They can take the damage and deal damage fairly quickly. They don't have to rely on stealth or keeping the enemy from attacking them. The only mixing I have done in this, is to add supportive skills to my character....aka restoration magic to my warrior. Incidently if you are using restoration magic definitely get dual casting. It helps alot.
