Preordering games ensures that you are first to get a copy of the game you ordered. Some games are highly anticipated, and sell out the first day. If you preorder it, you've already paid for it so as soon as it comes in, it's yours!

Typically, when preordering the manufacturers offer some level of incentive to the customer in order to get their sales up. Sometimes it's a t-shirt, sometimes a cheatcode or special unlock code, sometimes a special item comes with the game, and a variety or other things. Preordering should not cost you extra, or more money than the game will sell for on the day it gets released...so don't think you got ripped off or anything. You should be paying what everyone else will when it arrives.

I typically only preorder on "big games" like StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3...The new COD could sell out in your area since it is a fairly well anticipated game among COD fans...so you did just fine.

Normally when you pre-order a game for example, if it is a popular game then it will sell out in stores right? Pre-ordering will make sure that you have a copy of the game shipped to your address or reserved at a local store when it is released in stores without worrying if you will be there too late because it would have sold out. Sometimes pre-orders will come with other items relating to the game but not always. If it comes with your item it should be included in the product description. I've never pre-ordered before but I have an idea of what to expect.

Pre-Ordering is ordering the item before it even comes out, so yes technically you have it reserved.

So for example if you pre-order black ops, you are guaranteed to get when it comes out, cuz if you just go to a store the day it comes out, you can trust me you wont find a copy....

Pre-ordering is not free it is the exact same price as buying it on the store.

Pre-ordering does not give u any bonuses like t-shirts or pesters, and you dont get it earlier, u are just guaranteed to get the game

When you pre-order a game you guarantee that you have a copy bought and ready for pickup. Basically yes its a reserved copy. When you pre-order most, if not all, the time the game will come with an promotional item not obtainable other then pre-order. You don't usually get the game earlier. If you do don't expect to have a week or 2 before.

And yea pre-ordering isn't free..same price

For long expected or good games that are coming out, there tends to be a rush of people to the game store to buy them, so they are sold out probably in the first day. Pre-orders are just like buying the game at the store, but you are guaranteed to have it the day it arrives at the store. Some companies like to add stuff to the pre-ordered game to convince gamers to buy it early. So basically it will cost the same amount as if you were to buy it at the store, and (if you buy the normal game) will be exactly what you would get if you didn't pre-order it. The only purpose is to make sure you get the game the day it comes out.

by pre-ordering you are guaranteed to be able to pick the game up the day it comes out ( if you don't pre-order, especially if it's a big game like cod black ops, then there is a good chance game stop will be temporarily sold out and you would have to wait several days before being able to buy it.)

most games that are Pre-ordered come with bonus items. if you want more bonus items you can order special editions.

pre-ordering is usually not free

First off, learn to spell exactly.

Now, on to the question. Pre-ordering a game is basically paying for the game before it comes out. In most cases, pre-ordering a game will earn you bonus content. For example, pre-ordering fag ops will earn you a poster. And no, it isn't free. The minimum amount of cash you can use is 5 bucks.

Pre ordering is when you reserve a copy of the game and sometimes you will recieve a code to download a special item exclusivly to people who preorder. You recieve the game on the day of it's release and you don't have to pay in full up front however.

Pre-ordering just really is reserving your copy of the game.

BTW yeah it not free you need to put at least $5 down at Gamestop to pre-order and yes you get a poster.
