I have no idea where my manual is for this thing. I swear my original big Nintendo DS had the ability to stretch the screen size to fit the screen with GBA games. I haven't been able to get my DS Lite to do it so I'm guessing it just doesn't. Can anyone confirm? I seem to have lost my GBA SP from moving so I've been playing GBA games on my DS Lite, I swear the screen size is much smaller. I really wish I could stretch it.

I don't think you can change it. Besides the pixel sizes of the DS and DS Lite screens are different size to the GBA pixels.

since you own sapphire and you want to play pokemon HG, i would get the DS lite. it is cheaper than the DSi. you can play brain age, etc. on the DS lite too. since you just want a cheapish one to play the new pokemon game, the DS lite is the right one for you. its pretty cheap now because of the DSi and XL. and it has the GBA slot. i would only get the DSi over the DS lite if you REALLY loved taking pictures and distorting it and recording voices and distorting them. because thats probably the only things that make the DSi better than the DS lite. but you can take pictures and record voices with a camera and computer, respectively.
