i tried so many times, but it always says the same same thing. DNS port check failed.
Should the xbox and computer both be connected to the internet, or it doesn't matter?
i have already figured out my DNS server number and put it in settings.
What should i do??

Have you tried port forwarding setup in the 4200 itself? What about IP passthrough/DMZ setup up as well? Is this a router w/ an integrated switch or do you have something else hooked up along w/ the 4200?

DNS failure is usually the result of a firewall issue at the router itself, which would just require tweaking of those settings.

Maybe a better description of your setup might help resolve this problem. Check the network settings info when the 360 is on when you get the failure, what does the info say?

Here's a link that may help>>

May give you a better idea as to how to access the UI of the 4200 and tweak any settings.
