Question:
World of Warcraft WoW Best Duo parter for a Druid?
2008-02-21 12:09:36 UTC
Ok, so my friend just bought wow and made a druid, so im going to make a new character to play with him, we will ALWAYS be duo-ing. also, we wont be doing any PvP, so im just talking about PvE here. PvE-wise, which class should i choose to go with his druid? i was thinking about:

druid-druid: one healer and one balance/feral could work well
druid-rogue: two stealth people could make questing and double sneak attacks quite easy and awesome
druid-priest: two healers than can also switch (shadow form, bear form, cat form, moonkin) to become epic damage dealers
druid-warrior: a tanker and a healer, simple as that
druid-shaman: two jack of all trades, sort of like the 2 druid combo except a little more variety.

let me know which you think is the best and why!

just about anything will work with a Druid but I would probably go with the druid shaman combo just becaue shamans are next to impossible to kill. and you can heal and so can he. plus Shamans start to kick major booty when they get higher up in levels.

Feral Druid and Rogue as partners in crime is very delicious.

Imp. Leader of the Pack (druid) offers you both 100% chance on crit to heal yourselves for 4% of your total health. Since Cats and Rogues carry a high amount of crit, this means you'll both have a higher amount of survivability, and the druid won't have to pop out of form as much to heal when you are duoing. In a group setting, it's even better, as it saves your healer a lot of struggle.

Distract (Rogue) is fantastic for stealth running and duoing bosses or other elites that might be hard to get to. It ensures that both of you will be able to get from point A to point B without being seen so easily.

Mangle (Druid) is great when paired with Garrote (Rogue), because it increases bleed damage on a single target by 40%. This means whatever you're smacking around will go down a lot quicker.

Since bearform druids have a high armor mitigation and stamina, they'll be able to take a licking, and tank many normal world mobs at once, or several elites. The good news is that in a pinch, druids can still toss out a heal or two! If you or your partner is getting low on health, they can pop out of form, heal a bit, and pop back into bear, leaving the rogue to keep damaging and get those mobs down quick.

Regardless of which class you go with, I do not recommend any class leveling as Resto or Holy. It will be very slow going, and healing (especially in lower level instances) is more dependent on gear than on talents. The quicker you can kill things, the faster you will level, and the happier you will both be.

Good luck out there!

Paladins can actually be very good tanks if you know how to play them, and decent healers too. Druids used to be "ok at everything but the best at nothing", but ever since Wotlk came out, druids are pretty awesome as healers and dps'ing as a Boomkin. My guild does all the top end raids, and out best healer is a druid, and our best dps is a druid... and everyone is pretty much decked out... go figure... I think it also depends on what kind of toon you like playing, if you prefer a melee class, then be a shammy or something.. But if you are into casters- which I am, I have a duel specced shammy, ele/resto, a frost mage, a shadow priest, ret pally, dk and a boomkin- all at level 80, and I tell you now... druids are awesome fun! For me, it is the toon I enjoy the most. and there are so many advantages that other class's dont have! Roll A druid but be a chicken or a tree :)

On the long-run, I would say the druid-druid combo.

Druids are really versatile for all dps, tanking as well as healing roles. They could also either be melee based or caster based. You could both choose same roles or different roles to play and swap or change roles by simply redoing your builds if you decide to at any time - Balance, Feral Combat, Restoration. (Of course then there comes other issues such as gear and all.. but at least you know you won't have to level up a whole other character of a different class just to be able to begin playing a different role.) Regardless of your chosen roles, healing spells will be available to you at your disposal so you could always heal each other when and if in need. Also you could both sneak around in Cat Form using Prowl for whatever purposes. I'm a fan of pvp so I'd definitely use that to my advantage to jump people on the opposing faction. But you're not, so the both of you could always sneak past mobs without having to waste time killing/clearing them first.

First question you need to ask yourself what spec u gonna lvl as?

If druid is feral in that case Spriest is a good idea he can heal when shet hits the fan and u can tank. and both can do very good solo DPS for fast kill. also Spriest generates fast agro so the mob will attack him letting u to shred away and his shadow form takes less dmg then say mage or lock. If u get agro his flay and mind blast will tear things up.

If u are going balance then warr or a rogue is a good idea.

Keep in mind you want to be able to do any 2, 3 or even 4 ppl recomended quests together. So double burst DPS will be tough at times where outlast might work better. Keep in mind these chars will be your for long time so make ur desicion not on who to lvl with (cause game starts after that).

Depends what spec you want the Druid to be. Me and my husband leveled Druid/Priest, with him as the Tank/DPS and me as the healer. But we also lvld (switched Alliance to Horde) Druid/Shaman, both DPS. Depends what you want really. Druids can go well with basically anyone because they are so versitle. Pick a class you would like to play and I am sure you guys will rock!

arms/tank or rogue both exactly for the reasons you give and because my balance druid had the most fun with them right up to 70.

Whats population like on your server - do they hate druids except healers? need tanks? (everyone always needs tanks) are they over populated with rogues? Be a shame to play all the way up and not have a raiding guild accept both of you.

Depends on what roles you each want to play. If you want to level via a lot of 5-man dungeon runs I'd suggest one of you roll a healer and one roll a tank - that way when you want to run a dungeon you just need 3 dps classes which are a dime a dozen on most servers.

For Allience i would do Druid Mage because mages have arcane and frost magic to freeze then have the druid take them out.

For horde i have no clue
