If you can download furniture and objects, you can download clothes, sims, and meshes. They work the same way, just put the files in your Downloads folder. If a mesh is required, simply find the mesh if it's not included in the clothes or hair download, download it, and put it in your Downloads folder. If a mesh is needed, you must have the mesh plus the clothes or hairstyle you're downloading for the items to show up in your game. If you don't have a mesh and the file needs one, the item will revert itself back to the original item that was used to make the download.

On most sites the meshes either come with the color or there will be a link to the original mesh. You will need a mesh and whatever recolors you want. Most makers provide a mesh and then several recolors of it. You have to extract the mesh and the colors you want and put them in you downloads folder just like with everything else.
