Question:
My Gameboy Advance SP won't charge, but it's not the battery or charger?

I recently bought a brand new battery for my Gameboy Advance SP because it wouldn't charge, and I've been wanting to play for awhile. But when I put in the new battery and connected the Gameboy to the charger, the light still did not come on. Then I plugged it into my newer charger, and still nothing. I have 2 chargers and 2 batteries, and none of the combinations work, so I know neither are to blame. When I replaced the old battery and plugged in the older charger, the light would flicker if I held the cord in just the right position, but the light quickly went out.

So my question is, if it's not the battery or the charger that isn't working, why won't my Gameboy Advance SP charge? Is it fixable, or is it time to scrap it for a new one?

The same thing happend with my GameBoy it's the system itself I've had it for a very very long time and last year I stopped playing it because of the same problem but I didn't bother with new batteries and chargers. It's true that chargers slowly loose there power after many uses but I know you brough a new charger. Did you put the batteries in correctly, check if their secure and the right way round, I'm not suggesting your an idiot I'm just saying that everyone makes mistakes from time to time. With my gameboy you need to put the charger in the exact place, either holding it or balancing the cord off something else. If none of these work then it's time to scrap it for a new one. You can check how much it costs to repair but buying a new one may be cheaper. Sorry for your loss. Maybe you could get a Nintendo DS Lite, that way you can play GameBoy Games and Nintendo DS games on a brighter screen, maybe it's time for you to move on a little bit in technology.

Hope This Helps!

It might be the System itself, if a wire isn't connecting properly then it will not charge or turn on due to the lack of battery does it work if you keep it plugged in ? if so you might wanna test the batteries on a friends Gameboy or take it to a Gamestop for them to test it on one of their own so they can see first hand what is happening and they might be able to help you out as well and when you talk about holding the cord just so it sounds like that the internal prong that should be making contact with the power cable seems to be lose or not making contact that may be the issue either way it sounds like the system itself!
