Do u need a joystick in order to fly a plane or can I use the keyboard/mouse. Also, what are the keys for flying the plane. All I know is that "B" is brake, and F1 and F2 control throttle. I can't find it in the settings page and can't find any guides or videos to explain the flight controls online.

There are many shortcomings to traditional desktop flight simulators. I used to be into Microsoft Flight Sim awhile ago and in my head I just "knew" that it had to be almost as real as flying an actual aircraft. Well, once I started flying for the Navy that viewpoint totally changed. There are some similarities, but I was quite shocked at just how different simming is than real life. There are a couple skills that translate from the sim world to real life, such as spacial orientation and instrument work, but the overall feel is way off. Granted, I don't have X-Plane experience but, generally speaking, a desktop sim is a desktop sim.
