Me and my friend played Warcraft III TFT and Counterstrike Source for about 4-5 years and we are looking for some better games to play. We played WoW and WoW: BC, but realized that we were transporting ourselves half of the time and leveling was gruesome and it was quite dumb because of that reason. We'll buy the games from the store, but would rather not pay to play every month. Thanks in advance!

GuildWars is a great option if you liked WoW. You'll have to buy GuildWars from your local game store (or online, I believe), and any expansions you want for it (there are two out, and a third on the way, I believe. They're not necessary, but add new areas, items, and two more classes each). The game is based around PvP as the name implies. Very nice system, and the interface and graphics are well done. It also has a no-strings-attached free 14 day/10 hour trial.

Hm... Well, Warcraft III, I have to admit was a great game. CS was nice too. I believe I have a few games I know of that I can throw at you. These are all the games that I have played that are f2p.

Maple Story (get's boring after a few months)

PangYa (Known as Albatross 18 in America. If you don't like golf, then it's not recommended)

FlyFF (I barely tried it, so I can't give any comments)

Rappelz (Haven't tried it. My computer can't handle it because I barely have any RAM. It looks neat though)

Ragnarok Online (private servers are f2p. Official ones aren't. The official ones aren't even as good though. My personal favorite is animaro.com)

Infantry Online (station.sony.com. Very fun shooting game. It's in a birds eye view format sort of.)

FantaTennis (Stands for Fantasy Tennis. It only has a Japanese release so far)

These are the games I can remember. I might have forgotten a few though. Try and find one out of this list that you might enjoy ^_^

Have you tried The Kingdom of Loathing? It's *very* old-school (mainly text with some cheesy line-drawing graphics), but really funny and pretty addictive.
