Hey, I am thinking about getting Team Fortress 2 for the PC and I was wondering if you buy the non-steam version of the game can you install it into steam somehow? I also want to know if the game has a friends list if you can't.

since it's a valve game, you'll have to register and make a steam account. don't worry: they're free. therefore, after buying the retail copy, you'll need to have a steam account or else it won't play. and yes, steam does have a friends' list which you can access during playtime.
edit: nope. when installing, make sure you're logged into your account. your computer should prompt you for the cd-key in the box. just type that in and it should be good.
and to answer the other person, go to your library tab, then on the bottom hit "add game." from this list, just choose your the .exe file and it should show up on your steam library.

Get the computer variant, it is now free and it's also updated and has a market. The Xbox 360 version simplest has the default weapons, no custom maps, mods or some thing like that. You might also get the Orange box for Xbox 360, seeing that you are an "Xbox 360 man". It has half of-lifestyles 2, episodes 1 & 2, staff Fortress 2 and Portal.
