I've installed Rome Total War to my hard drive on my Laptop, which runs with Windows 7. I've installed the game twice, but whenever I try to play it, nothing happens and it doesn't open. No error message comes up, it simply doesn't play. Any help? Thanks.

Are you on Windows 7 64 bit? I had problems when I installed RTW on my Windows 7 64 bit PC. I then saw that some of the files were in the "Program Files" directory and the rest in the "Program Files (x86)" directory. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, making sure that the whole thing was installed in the "Program Files x86" directory. I didn't get any problems after that.

Personally, I enjoyed Empire: Total War more than any other game in the series. I would like to see another new title, starting in 1800 and concluding in 1920. This would see the development of steam ships, primitive submarines and the first tanks, so the tactics of the traditional games would still apply. Think of the possibilities when the first planes were introduced in 1910 - the German Zepplin in particular. I will star this post, because I believe in supporting any total war fans. If Creative Assembly were to create another version of Rome: Total War with better graphics, I would like it to focus more on both the Republic and Empire. It should be much more engaging, and the map should expand to China. Did you know the Athenians of Ancient Greece colonised Italy, Spain and Southern France? Imagine sailing to Thailand and fighting the tribes there to set up a Roman fortress. I think it would be fantastic. Anyhow, good idea!

It's possible that window 7 didn't support your Rome TW.

Click right mouse button on the application. Then click compatibility and switch to XP.

If things still not right then you can switch to another TW games like MED2 or try to ask here
