Why won't Battlefield 2 work after installing patch 1.41?

I installed the patch 1.41 and now as soon as I open the game, it goes to a black screen then it crashes, can any-one help me out?

It should work. If you delete the Battlefield 2 folder in My Documents it should reset the game settings, you will need your username/email and password.

If that doesn't fix it, you may have to uninstall the game and download the patch again.
