Question:
WoW DPS for a Death Knight beginner?

I plan to build a death knight in the near future, but i'm just not sure what items are best for any given DPS build, let alone a death knight. What stat is generally best for DPSing? I've only tanked so far, so dps is new to me, and from the stats i've seen, strength is practically useless since attack power only boosts damage by like 10% of the AP value.. where as agility gives chances to double the damage, and to avoid damage altogether.

So all that being said, whats the best stat or even a specific piece of gear you could reccomend to me? I'm wanting 80 gear for a DPSing death knight and i'll likely just be doing standard PVE and PVP, no big raids for me.

When you go through the Death Knight starting area which levels you from 55 to 57-58, you will get as quest rewards the gear that you will probably still want to wear into your early 60's...You'll notice if you go to Hellfire Peninsula that almost all the DKs are geared exactly the same for that very reason, so gear is not gonna be your problem. For DPS you are gonna look for stamina, crit, attack power, and maybe agility.

Hey there.. 72 DK here. Blood spec to the max. This is a wicked spec for dps'ing. I go with the Stamina and the Agility at the moment and Crit'ing for over 2500. WotLK area has some pretty nice gear too. But good god there is a lot of haste boosting gear. Our white magic stinks so haste is really useless. Past the Fjord I have noticed the the gear seems to get better and I am really starting to like the armor penetration increases. GL

Just wanted to post my agreement with Sandie's answer. I have a level 64 DK, and have just now changed my first piece of gear, and that was just a chest piece with slightly better stats. If I were in your shoes, i would focus on Stamina and Agility when you do make your equipment changes! Hope this helps!! :-)

while he says: i'm the resurrection and the existence. The word eternal existence does no longer exist in scriptures. The greek word is eonian existence meaning existence of the age (of Christ).
