Sims 2 Unable to Save the Game?

I was playing the sims 2 I have all the expansions except for seasons Im gonna get it. Anyway I can't save or quit or return to the neighborhood in my current lot with two sims. The options to save and stuff are hallow and match the UI color. Kind of like when you have a fire and the build and buy mode buttons are hallowed out. I did delete the grim reaper when he came onto my lot to take a sim (not one I controlled a visitor) and I deleted him is that the reason I can;t save. How can I fix this. Just let the grim reaper come back and let him do it without interference. I used the moveobjects on cheat to delete the grim reaper.

I'm Sorry. If u delete the grim reaper, its gonna be stuck and the modes will be frozen. U gotta have a sim die and the reaper will come. try to plead for loved one if the two sims are really close and u might win. then the modes should be unstuck. sometimes if u delete grim reaper or social worker, the modes won't get stuck but most of the times, they do get frozen.

Don't delete the grim reaper or the social worker. You'll have to ctrl alt delete and shut down the game. You'll lose everything you did since your last save.

Yup, you gotta let the Reaper finish doing his thing or the lot will be useless
