Skyrim Question? I really need an answer about Dragon Shouts?

Ok so i found like a 4 or 5 dragon shouts. I go out a kill a few dragons and i absorb there souls. But it seems like everytime i absorb there soul, I still can't get the shout.
I find the shout on the wall. It's just everytime i absorb a dragon soul, i cant ever get the shout word.
Can somebody tell me, how to obtain the power to use the shout. Also every dragon i kill, its ethier a dragon that blows wind or fire. I did kill a dragon that blew ice once and absorbed his soul, but yet i cant use the ice shout. So wtf.

In the shouts tab, highlight the shout. In the lower-right corner, I believe (somewhere on the bottom anyway) there should be something along the lines of "press * to unlock". For example, on xbox it works by pressing X. Then just select it, and you should be able to use it.

The shout you get is determined by the walls. Not by the dragon you kill.



Look up where the shouts are on the Skyrim Wiki, they tell you where the walls are.



And you have go to the shouts area under Magic and choose "unlock" after you get a dragon soul.

What you have to do is this: Find a dragon shout wall. Go up close to the wall and it should say "Dragon Shout absorbed" or something. Then go then go out and kill a dragon and once you absorb it's soul then go to your spells and then go to your magic tab and then go to shouts and then press whatever button you press on your PC or console it says to unlock. Then select it and try to shout. Hope this helps!

You get the shouts from the word walls , the dragon souls just allow you to unlock the ability to use the shout. There are 20 word walls in total.

you still need to unlock the shouts themselves. Go to your magic menu and go down to shouts. All the shouts you have learned should be there, although faded (which means you haven't unlocked it yet). Go over to the shout you want and a prompt to press a button ( Square for PS3, probably B for Xbox) should appear. Just press the button and the shout should now be unlocked.
