Okay, so I got this game for PS2. I played to GBA version a little bit but heard it was being released for PS2 and put it down.

i KIND OF understand the concept of the card system, but equipping and mixing and matching decks at the menu is going WAY over my head. How does it work?

I'm asking this because i feel like i have a really weak deck and i'm pretty much just mashing the x button, and then all of a sudden i'm healing myself, and then i'm frantically running around trying to charge my cards up again while getting hit by the heartless...and if this is all the game offers i feel like i may have to trade it in. :-/

I want to like this game and I really want to give it a chance cuz I love KH.

...I dont even know where to start....

Under 'Edit Deck' I have four cards on the right side of the screen...two with a keyblade on them and two with the cure leaf thing on them. I think i may have had one with Simba on it or something. Okay, so I know that the higher # the card the more powerful it is and when you play them with an enemy at the same time the higher card wins...I got that...but when i try to mix and trade out cards in this menu to "build a deck" I just end up getting really lost and frustrated....

I'm assuming CP is card points...but does each card have its own CP? cuz when I highlight it on the screen it has different numbers for different card's CP.

I think it was a neat attempt at a different battle system, but they could have explained it A LOT better. Can someone please help me?

Well Chain of Memories is pretty complicated. To build a deck you must have some cards. After having those cards you can build your deck, and yes the higher the number on the card the better it is. But the higher the number also means the more CPs it takes. To increase CPs you can choose them when you lv. And just add more cards to help you i guess.

Hope that made sense....

CP is card points the higher the CP is the more cards you can put in your deck

All cards have numbers from 0 to 9.

9 is the strongest card it can break any card except for sleights.

ex: 9 card with 1 card. 9 wins (9>1)

9 card with sleight made up of 687= 21. 9 card loses (9<21)

I know a lot of ppl don't like the 0 card but they're the most powerful cards to use if used correctly. only a 0 card can break a slieght. if you use the card before your opponent them they can break your card easily if you use the card after card then you will break their card

ex: 0 card used first then opponent uses 1 card. 0 card loses

0 card used after opponent uses 1 card. 0 card wins

sleights are special moves like sonic blade. in order to perform a sleight you need to stock up 3 cards by pushing the triangle button.

you learn them when you level up. by stocking different cards different sleights will be performed this includes magic and friend cards. You can break a sleight with a sleight but your 3 cards sum have to be greater then your opponents.

ex: 687=21 and made up of 3 different attack cards like key blade,

olimpia, divine rose make up sonic blade

0 card used after a sleight made up of 999= 27. 0 card wins

sleight made up of 999=27 and a sleight made up of 123= 6 (27> 6)

6 loses

Welll I don't have the game yet but i have seen a preview of it but mostly it's all about the strategy you choose it doesn't matter how many or which cards you have its about how and when you use them.
