The game actually can't handle a level above a certain amount. I believe its somewhere around 180 due to the 8-bit system. But, there are mods that modify the leveling script so you can keep leveling after 50. Also, there is a mod that allows you to get a perk every level. You can find them all by doing a simple search on this mod website. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/

Always the easy way out for cheap gamers...

AS IF the games of this generation aren't RIDICULOUSLY easy and simple that even a 9 year old has no problem playing them. I would have loved to see a 9 year old play and understand Morrowind, heck, even Final Fantasy 3 or Secrets of Mana....

Anyways, to answer the questions, NO. They limited the game because once you hit level 20 anyways, you become incredibly over powered if you played the game right, and most ennemies, who do not scale with you, will completely cease to be a challenge. All this can be accomplished in under 100 hours, which for an RPG is not very big if you compared to others who can take THOUSANDS of hours to fully explore. The "creators" did a fine job of limiting people who would have just posted videos of themselves at level 500 on the internet and how they are Gods of the Wastelands had they NOT put a level cap on it.

So here's the deal, you have a very tough choice; deal with it, or don't play the game. But don't say other people scr*ed up, the only ones screwing up games are the people who want to bend it's rules and cheat with it, sorry.

No they aren't. Level caps make sense. By level 50, if you've played the game right, you should be unstoppable anyway. If you wanna be an expert in some other type of weapon, start another playthrough. Besides, its Fallout, once you've beaten a profile (max level, sidequests, dlc, etc.) unless you wanna get all acheivement/trophies, there isn't a hell of a lot to do anyway.

the level caps work fine either in the base game or with all dlc.by either cap you should be unstoppabale in some type of fighting style like guns, energy weapons, unarmed unless you picked or perks and put skill points all over the place.try planning out your character and you can breeze through the game,or put it on hardcore very hard if its really that easy for you.

Also, they f*cked up on how many feat you can get. You can get to chose a feat only once every pair number, so you end up with only 15 feat, and about 5 of those are mandatory feat like the Educated on.

Who the hell would want to be level 200?

You'd be way too overpowered.

Stop whining and just make a new character. And if you won't do that, deal with it.
