Hello I got a new computer a couple of weeks ago. My old computer was Windows XP and Call of Duty 2 worked for it. Now, I have Windows Vista and Call of Duty 2 won't start. It says "cod2mp_s.exe has stopped working." Anything I can do? I want to play it so bad!

Its because windows vista has just recently come out and the game isnt compatible with it, check the system requirements on the back on the CD and it will say which windows system it will work on.

Buy XP before they discontinue it. Though Microsoft may claim otherwise, if the game doesn't have a sticker on the front saying it's Vista compatible, it PROBABLY won't work on Vista.

There is one thing you can try: right click on the icon that launches the game and select properties. Go to the compatibility tab, click the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)."

This MAY work. If it doesn't, you'll have to either buy XP (my recommendation - it's much smoother, lighter and cleaner than Vista) or wait for Microsoft to come out with an update that fixes the compatibility problem.

Buying XP can be an immediate fix (minus the two hours it takes to install it, of course), but goodness knows how long we'll be waiting for Vista to be compatible with old games.
