Spore is crashing alot on my computer.?

I've had Spore since Sunday and two days ago I got to the space age and it began crashing, I don't know why, but about ever hour or 2 of playing it happens. I'll be playing and all of a sudden the screen goes black, I can still hear the music, and then the window pops up that says "Spore isn't working currently" it looks for a solution and doesn't find one and Xs out, it's very annoying, I save alot because I'm afraid of it crashing on me. here are my specs, my computer is built by me but is VERY stable, never crashes and I play alot of games and this NEVER happens to me. Is there anything I can do to stop all the crashing.
