The new Families are:

The Wolff Family are a newly married couple living along the beach. It seems like they have the perfect life, but it turns out they rushed into their marriage to quickly before finding out that Thorton is against fatherhood, while Morgana wants to have as many children as possible.

The Hart Family appears to be a normal family...well except the fact that both the mother and father have the insane trait. Their, daughter Bebe is just trying to be a normal teenager in this chaotic family.

The Ursine Family or Claire Ursine is a single lady who lives alone and loves to fish. She might seem like a normal woman, but it turns out she's Pregnant (the father is unknown) and she has a job in the Criminal Career!!!

The Alto Family is simply described as "Nouveau Riche and Evil." Their family name may be a pun on the television series "The Sopranos." They seem to have a rivalry with the Landgraab Family.

The Goth Family The Goth Family are the founders of Sunset Valley and are very wealthy. Since this is way before The Sims 2, Gunther Goth and his wife Cornelia are adults, with Mortimer Goth as a child. (Mortimer Goth seems to have a crush on Bella.)

The Bachelor Family will appear with Jocasta Bachelor dealing with her husband Simis's recent death.

The Langerak Family

Now you get to have Kaylynn Langerak as a playable child Sim. She actually comes from a wealthy family. She lives with her father Charles Langerak, her mother and maid Tamina Zavarez, her grandmother Prudence, and her sister Donyelle Langerak. Her father Charles is famous for his many wives who mysteriously died after he found another love interest...

The Keaton Family:Try to keep up the sporty Keatons.

The Landgraab Family:Live the good life with the Landgraabs as long as your name isn't name Alto. Consists of Malcolm II, Marion Landgraab, and Malcolm Landgraab III.

The 'Crumplebottom Family', Agnes Crumplebottom better known as Mrs. Crumplebottom as her younger self, and her dead husband Robert Crumplebottom featured as a Ghost (see Ghosts).

The Hipp Household: This household was created by Grant Rodiek in a Sims 3 video. It consists of Liam O'Dourke, Kim, and Piper.

The Zavarez Family or Rosemarie Zavarez is a grumpy old lady and the sister of Tamina Zavarez.

The Buckingham Family will appear with Blair Buckingham, his wife Virginia Buckingham, and the child Margaret Buckingham. Blair is having an affair with the maid Tamina Zavarez.

Families returning from the Sims 2 are the

Goth Family,

Bachelor Family,

Pleasant Family,

Oldie Family,

Landgraab Family,

Simovitch Family,

Newbie Family,

Burb Family and the

Marsh Family .

Mrs. Crumplebottom will be around as her younger self. The source of her crabbiness is revealed to be due to her husbands death, her husband features as a ghost.

I was able to play a little on a friend's version (which, by the way, do not bother to download...it contains only one neighborhood and has other limitations, like not being able to get stuff from the official site...and you can't create your own neighborhood...I would strongly advise getting the official copy, just fyi :).

There is too much to share, just so much. I would recommend beginning with a household of 1 or 2 Sims because, believe me, their lives are chaotic! They can travel anywhere in town without load screens, and when you have several Sims scattered about, you have to scramble to keep track of them. They can visit neighbors, whether friends or strangers. They can go to businesses to take classes, attend movies and concerts and games, or to get a job. They can go to the spa, the bookstore, the grocery store, the library, cafes, the park, the beach, Stonehenge-like area, the cemetery, the boarded-up old mine, the swimming pool. They can take up painting and the guitar. Garden and fish. Learn new recipes. Write novels (which you can name...you can also name your paintings and any fish you catch and put in a fishbowl, and your teddy bear!) and hack on the computer and join bookclubs and donate to charities. Many, many opportunities arise, through school, friends, jobs, even complete strangers. Fix the school boiler, or teach a music class, or bring fresh fish to the local restaurant, things like that. You get rewards that might mean Simoleons, increased relationships, increased job or school performance.

Personality traits affect so many things, whether negative or positive, and even affect how they interact with other Sims. Going to work is a waste of time, though, I must say because there's not enough time in a Sim day to do it all.

(EDIT for poster below me: I know who the father of Ursine's baby is! Because when I played, I had my Sim get pregnant by the same guy without realizing it, and Ursine's daughter and my Sim's child ended up being named in the game as half-sisters, and incidentally became best friends as they lived next door to each other. Just major coincidence, lol. The father of Ursine's baby is...drum roll please...Jared Frio! Yes, Jared, that loser fry cook at the local greasy spoon.)
