Ferrari wants 5 million dollars from video games to have their cars in them. Look at the new game for PS3 coming out "Ferrari Challenge" Ferrari charged the gaming company 5 million to use the Ferrari Licence. Also previous games before Gran Turismo 5 Prolouge and Ferrari Challenge, Ferrari was concerned that if the video game had accidents and real damage, that the damage to the cars in the game would make people think that the damage portrayes the actual car in real life, another reason why the licence is so expensive.

I think this is because of licensing issues. Ferrari may not want thier name in the games making the company make a name up to cover them. If they did put Ferrari's name in a game without Ferrari's permission, they would most likely be sewed.

It's all down to licensing. Ferrari want money to use their name and logo in a game, and games companies aren't willing to pay it. There's no need for them too.
However, Gran Turismo 5 will be including Ferrari's, so we'll all finally get the chance to get behind the wheel over the over priced, up their own backside, supercars!

not true. in the new gran turismo they will have ferrari's that are called ferrari. not the porche's that are know as RUF in the game.(thats the tuning brand)
it is very odd but its something to do with the licence and brand. its all money related
