Question:
Any good MMOs for free?

How's it going. Looking for a good MMO for free. I played WoW for about 3 years and got pretty sucked into that. Finally got bored of it and quit. Lord of the Rings Online became free and so I downloaded it...it doesn't quite meet my standards since WoW was a pretty good one. Does anyone know of any good MMOs out there that are free to play but still good?

I agree with Kasper. Lord of the Rings Online is free, has an amazing community of friendly, helpful players, and looks much better than Runescape. Lotro has great ambiance, well thought out lore, a fun and profitable crafting system, and less "grind" than a lot of MMOs. Unique character classes too.

Another of my favorites is Allods Online. This is a WOW equivalent, but f2p. Another great looking game with good concept, AO has skyships that you can build and navigate throughout the world. That's the thing that made it interesting for me.

Anyways, avoid Runescape at all costs. It's for people with garbage computers who don't have a graphics card that can handle decent games. Looks like something the South Park guys cut and pasted together while taking a heavy dose of Oxycontin. The PvP is god awful, it's 95% grind, boring, and unimaginative to boot.

It's really hard to recommend any specific MMO game, because everyone likes something different. A game I like you may hate. Check out http://mmohut.com for a large list of these free mmorpg / mmo games. I use that site to find new games to play. Every few days I try a new game :) - It's a lot of fun because I try everything. They have like every single MMORPG categorized nicely with reviews, screenshots, videos and more. Heck they even list the game's system requirements!. Best part is all the games are free, which rocks.

They have a huge section for "no download" browser MMORPGs as well. All with screenshots and reviews!

Let me know if this helped at all!

Wait for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV, Guild Wars 2 and Mabinogi Heroes.

ive been with Lotro since Nov 2008, its worth it, i promise. Mainly the real fans of this game are the ppl that like Lord of the Rings. :) ... DDO is also free from Turbine, but im not into that game.

zOMG!. Enough said. It is free, you don;t have to download, it is a long game, needs more support! I love this game and so does alot of others who play it! It is found on the site Gaiaonline.
